Cheryl Cole releases a new song, people inevitably speculate its about Ashley

Whenever Cheryl Cole releases a song about a relationship that has gone awry, people always inevitably speculate that it’s been penned about her ex-husband Ashley.

As seems to be the case with her latest tune Love Killer, which is nice enough and includes the lyrics:

“Why do I love you so much when you’re a love killer? / Why do I give you my love when you’re a love killer?

“You gave me butterflies and then you shot em’ down straight out the sky. / You make my heart take off then kick it on the ground / You don’t even try.

“All that I want is you. / Baby, baby you’re like the worst drug, but you’re a buzz killer. I’m in love with a love killer.

“Assassinate my dreams, you’re nothing but cold. But baby I just know that no one in the world can love you if I don’t. And all of my friends they hate you, cos all of the things that you do.”

If only Cheryl wrote her own songs we might actually believe she’d put this one together to take a pop at her ex. If only…

Anyway, not-so-subtle subtext aside, what do you make of this new tune?
