Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have held off from getting married for years because they’ve been waiting for the US government to give same sex couples equal marriage rights as hetrosexual ones.
Even though the two are now engaged, back in May Brad said: “We truly have no date. I'm still hoping we'll figure out our marriage equality in the States before then.”
So with that in mind we doubt the Hollywood star will be too pleased with this open anti-gay letter his very Christian mother wrote to a local newspaper concerning the upcoming presidential election. In it Jane Pitt said:
“Any Christian should spend much time in prayer before refusing to vote for a family man with high morals, business experience, who is against abortion, and shares Christian conviction concerning homosexuality just because he is a Mormon.”
“Any Christian who does not vote or writes in a name is casting a vote for Romney’s opponent, Barack Hussein Obama - a man who sat in Jeremiah Wright’s church for years, did not hold a public ceremony to mark the National Day of Prayer, and is a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage.”
There was some confusion about whether Brad’s mum actually penned the letter however the editor of the paper cleared that by saying: “Editor's note: To clear up earlier confusion, the News-Leader has verified the letter writer is the mother of actor Brad Pitt and local businessman Doug Pitt.”
Bet Brad – who’s also a big supporter of Obama – will be having some stern words with his mother this evening.
