Chris Moyles is out, Nick Grimshaw is in and ready to give Radio 1 the much needed face lift it has been waiting for.
Moving from his usual late night slot, Nick may have some big shoes to fill as he steps into his new early morning gig, but already the 27-year-old has been met with overwhelming positive responses from those that think Grimmers will be perfect for the role!
"Nick is a great broadcaster with a passion for music and a mischievous sense of humour, which has made him a hit with our listeners," Radio 1 controller Ben Cooper said. "He will be an excellent host for Radio 1’s new breakfast show, bringing a new generation of listeners with him."
And Mr Cooper isn't the only person backing NIck's new venture, with many of his celebrity pals sharing their love and support for him on Twitter. " @grimmers AMAZING!!!!! So proud of you" tweeted Lily Allen (nee: Cooper). "Yaye well done @grimmers NEW Breakfast SHow Dj #radio1," added Fearne Cotton.
It's time to get those young'uns loving Radio 1.
