The bond between Chris Brown’s mother and Rihanna must still be strong; the rapper’s mum took to Twitter this weekend to offer her condolences to singer after she'd learnt her grandmother had died of cancer.
'Angel may God be with you and your family in your time of sorrow. Love you angel’ wrote Joyce Hawkins, to which Rihanna replied:
‘Thank you! Love u mama.'
RiRi also posted a series of touching shots of her and her gran posing together on Instagram. Just a few weeks ago, Rihanna rushed home to be by her sick grandmother’s side in hospital.
The devastating news could be the reason behind Rihanna’s panned gig in Sweden; fans at the concert were outraged when she took to the stage 45 minutes late, dedicated her performance to Norway mistakenly and then put on a lackluster show.
Her demeanor caused some audience goers to suggest that she was on drugs, however it seems more likely that grief was behind her off-kilter behaviour.
